Default Weekend Event Idea, Mini Games?

Hey all, what does everyone think of a weekend of mini games event?

Example, open up the boardwalk, dragon arena, roller beetle racing, costume brawl and the snow game which i forgot the name of

Anyway, the point is it will be a nice way to bring up our gamer points and more importantly have a great deal of fun for the players etc and as far as I know it would be a rather unique event for everyone.

Would also break the monotony of the same events (ish) coming up every week, keep in mind that it would be better for this to be just the weekend and not some extended thing because people tend to get bored if there up to long.

Also maybe add somewhat of a reward for the highest point taker or something for each mini game, make it a little competitive

Anyway just a thought for you all to ponder about.

Pol

I'd be down for some beetle racing.

The best approach is probably something along the lines of old "gamer" weekends when the boardwalk (and therefore Dragon's Nest), the Dragon Arena and beetle racing are open. Much as I hate Nine Rings and the server load it creates, it does draw a crowd.

If you open all of the gamer point arenas at the same time, it spreads people too thin. That's a good thing for people that want to farm points (distributing skilled players across multiple formats), but I think that most players would prefer to encounter skilled resistance every once in a while. It breaks up the monotony.

Snowball arena twice a year (Wintersday and once in the summer) is plenty. Costume Brawl doesn't need to occur more than once a year, TBH.

Your suggestion of offering a prize for highest point total has a flaw. If ANet is going to implement a reward for consecutive wins, it creates a lot of problems for beetle racing if consecutive wins are necessary to scoring well. An organized group could try to eliminate competition by committing several players to deliberately snapping the win streaks of the competition. This becomes a bigger problem if you spread everybody out over four or five different games, as it becomes more likely that members will encounter the adversaries they want to target.

Note that you can sneak top scores through this sort of harassment by capably defending yourself early until you can echo/SRB and get the big lead, but you can't possibly sustain win streaks through two or more players in a match determined to wreck your day.

This isn't such a problem in the team formats, because good teams beat inferior teams.

We've had Gamer/Boardwalk weekends before. No, your suggestions towards them aren't beneficial. Yes, we need more of them.

I would be all for splitting up Gamer and Boardwalk weekends simply because of that attitude.

If it was two different ones(board walk one weekend, gamer some other) i would be okay with afew of these every now and then, like the SS/LB weekends that dont come near enough.

Wouldnt want them as common as AB/RA TA events, but would be nice for a change.

I could do with a weekend of afking on 9 rings. Im all for it. Especially now that I have a decent amount of cash to waste on tickets.
